Our CompTIA Training Courses

Pretty much seen as the defacto entry certification for the IT industry, this certification is an absolute must if you are wanting to break into IT. Very much seen as the entry point into an IT career, the CompTIA A+ is designed to give depth of knowledge across the broad spectrum of the IT sector including hardware, software & operating systems, networking, troubleshooting and problem solving and cyber security. The knowledge required to pass the A+ could be seen as approximately 12 months experience in the industry.

Although you will likely progress onto higher level exams such as the Network+ or Security+, the CompTIA A+ is probably the biggest certification undertaking as it consists of two exams which both need to be passed. The first exam (220-1001) is focused on mobile devices, networking technology, hardware, virtualization and cloud computing and network troubleshooting whereas the second exam (220-1002) looks ar installing and configuring operating systems, expanded security, software troubleshooting and operational procedures.

Each exam is split into a number of core domains that broadly cover the exam objectives. These domains are:

Core 1 (220-1001)

  • Mobile Devices
  • Networking
  • Hardware
  • Virtualization and Cloud Computing
  • Hardware and Network Troubleshooting

Core 2 (220-1002)

  • Operating Systems
  • Security
  • Software Troubleshooting
  • Operational Procedures

During the course you will explore how to demonstrate baseline security skills for IT support professionals, configure device operating systems, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Chrome OS, Android and iOS and administer client-based as well as cloud-based (SaaS) software. You will learn how to troubleshoot and problem solve core service and support challenges while applying best practices for documentation, change management, and scripting. You will focus on how to support basic IT infrastructure and networking, configure and support PC, mobile and IoT device hardware as well as how to implement basic data backup and recovery methods and apply data storage and management best practices.
